…I don’t really like running. Yeah, i know right?

Guaranteed, if you google ‘best exercise to lose weight’ or ‘how to get fit’ then the chances are someone, somewhere will tell you to run. And that’s fine, doing anything is much better than sitting doing nothing, but running is just a bit tedious really.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE racing, I LOVE all things obstacle course related, stick me in a field with 2000 people and i’ll run as far as you tell me to. But to just get up, go out and run, normally in a circle, well i’d much rather do a million other things.

Doesn’t really bode me well for running a half marathon in a few months!

I always feel great afterwards, the endorphins and the accomplishment are great ego boosts. But to tell the truth, i’d much rather walk. Although having limited time to exercise generally means that I have to run. I’d just much rather go lift some weights or do some burpees.

I am in awe of people who run marathons. People who can go out and run 10 miles and actually like it, i salute you. I get bored. 10km is probably the most i’ll manage and even then i’ll mentally have to cajole myself into every kilometer. It’s probably something I should work on really.

So as a runner who doesn’t like running…Next week my goal is to run at least 3 times!
