Taking delight in another PB for 2019 and also the fact that my HR is significantly reduced from this time last week. Hormones are the devil. Readjusting my expectations is hard, but when I first started running (about 7 years ago) I was always delighted with under a 10 min mile. The issue is I got super fit, super complacent, and then super unfit again 🤣 so trying to delight in anything under a 10 min mile or even anything under a 15 min mile is my new goal. . . #running #pb #runningbackfrominjury #training #runhappy #hr #instarunners #trailrunning #newpb #justkeeprunning

Had hoped to finish the week on 15 miles for the week but alas, Sunday got the better of me and have only managed 12. However it’s the highest weekly mileage I’ve recorded since 2017 so I’m taking it and will build on it next week. My hips are sore and my hamstrings ache but that’s why we have foam rollers isn’t it. Eh where did winter go...🥵 Umma gonna take this 10k PB for 2019 and I’m going to allow myself to be utterly delighted with it 🥰 Instagram can be a funny place and there are lots of stats on here with people running ‘slow miles with tired legs’ at sub 8min miles. I know this because I’ve been there myself, trying to kid social media and myself into thinking an effort I should be delighted with is just a steady saunter. By diminishing ourselves like this we’re doing ourselves a disservice, and it can play havoc with our opinions of ourselves. No more ✋🏻✖️ from now on I’m going to take pleasure from every run, and not sell any of my efforts short. That was a bloody hard, hilly, HOT run today. And I bloody loved it. The fact this photo is in my memories today means it’s only 12 weeks until @ratracehq #dirtyweekend 🤭 But this photo is one of my all time favourites ❤️ at this point we’d only known each other for about 6 hours. And now he’s one of my bestest friends. Running 20 miles with the small matter of 200 obstacles between the start and finish line tends to bring people together. @bigdowls I can’t imagine my life without you.
