I deleted all my social media today.
I’m not sure that will be a positive thing – I write a blog in the public domain, it works to my advantage that I have social media.
But, I’ve been in Aviemore with my work for the last few days and I’ve not had any signal. Aside from missing being able to speak to my kids I’ve not really missed having no phone signal.
And then this morning I got confirmation that my ex partner is reading everything I write. Which one, is a bit odd on his part. And two, makes me feel weird.
So I just deleted all the apps. Done. See ya later.
Except, I love writing. It’s part of me, I get a lot out of it and actually my platform allows me to reach a lot of people.
So I decided, I’m going to write. I’m just going to write and not have any idea of who I’m reaching and with no knowledge of likes or comments or impact.
It’s odd. But it’s also really freeing.
I’m not going up give up any information that might allow anyone else in, but I have a lot to say. I’m not going to stop.
So I’m going to post via here, about life, about things I have to say. I’m just not going to go on social media.
Here’s what I think (and these words aren’t mine, they’re from someone special);
“Life is hard. It’s really challenging. There isn’t a right path. And sometimes it kicks your ass. Your life isn’t madness or chaotic, it’s just your life. There will be shit bits and there will be mindblowingly awesome bits. But when the shit hits the fan all you can do is keep going. Don’t let anyone dull your flame. Live”
I made a promise to myself that this year I was going to write more. And that’s what I’m going to do.
Make decisions that benefit you.
