Birthday ninjas this morning... 🎈

I thought about a lot on my run today, most of it negative 🙋🏼‍♀️ a year ago I was probably running a good minute per mile on average faster than this with similar effort. Which makes today’s run seem like a pile of wank. But, five years ago, I couldn’t even contemplate ever breaking a 30 minute 5km 🤷🏼‍♀️ which means, I might not be where I was, but I’m still further down the line than when I started. There are bumps in whatever road we travel, mine looks like early menopause and a displaced pelvis. It involves a whole heap of lost motivation and desire to workout. I can pinpoint where it all started to go wrong as well. But what I also know is that I won’t get better sitting about moaning about not running. Which I suppose means I need to keep running 🙄 . . #running #runninggoals #onestepatatime #keepmoving

Today I ran, on my own, for the first time this year. Figured with the small matter of an attempted 50km in 22 days I should make an effort 🙋🏼‍♀️ one of (the only one) the reasons I’ve not run recently is because I didn’t want to be slow. I didn’t want my watch to tell me I’ve slowed down. Which you know, doesn’t get any easier the longer you avoid the task. So I told myself I’d just go out and run and walk if I needed to and enjoy it etc etc. I didn’t. I didn’t walk anyway. I’m still not good with the slowing down thing. And then I forgot to stop my watch when I got home and it fucked with my average pace 🤯 and so that’s my karma. but I ran. And didn’t die. And it was sunny. So yay. . . #running #runhappy #sunnydays #happy
