Over the years I have come to realise that it is always detrimental to me if I exercise when I’m on my period. I used to fight it. And I got injured, and demoralised and felt crap. So now, I don’t. I always take the entire week off. It’s still a bit of a battle like oh I should be out there running or oh I’ve eaten all the carbs so now I should burn it off. BUT I know that it brings nothing but over heating, horrible breathing, less strength and injuries to the surface. And I used to worry it would set me back in my fitness. But then I go out after a week off and hit PBs in my threshold zone and it feels GREAT 🌟and I DON’T LOOK LIKE A RIBENA BERRY 🍇 do what works for YOU, not what you feel like you should be doing. . . #running #loverunning #happy #pb #happymiles #mondaymotivation #girlswhorun #motherrunner #training #marathontraining

A lot of people don’t understand that eating healthily is a skill that is learned over time, it isn’t easy. It takes time and effort and it can be a pain sometimes when it would be super easy to just eat anything. It’s very hard to maintain all of the time, and that’s why you shouldn’t feel guilty or bad for eating something that isn’t ‘good’ sometimes. It might be higher in sugar or fat but it’s definitely good for overall wellbeing. We’re moving into week 5 of tracking and I’ve lost a stone 🙋🏼‍♀️🌟 still having pizza, got drunk out my face last night, eating salmon and lentils today. Food prep Sunday’s 🙋🏼‍♀️ so here’s the honest truth - a month ago I was eating too much and not moving very much. It’s not any more complicated than that. I was just lying to myself. 3.5 weeks later of finally fessing up and tracking my intake Mon-Thurs and relaxing a bit at the weekend (yesterday we had a chippy and a shit tonne of ice cream) and I’ve lost 12lbs. TWELVE POUNDS. So much so that @findlayvaller has decided maybe I do actually know what I’m talking about and has jumped on the food prep wagon. Still won’t eat salmon though 🤷🏼‍♀️ the diet industry will tell you to cut this or cut that or stop eating carbs or ditch sugar but the simple fact is that if you EAT AT A CALORIE DEFICIT then you WILL LOSE WEIGHT. Still eat the cake, still have pizza. Christ life isn’t worth living without pizza. But eat salad too. And lift some weights.
