There’s a couple of days a month where I wake up and feel really comfy in my own skin. This has been the same no matter what I weigh (it’s all hormonal tbh) Today is one of them. Woke up and was like - yeah I don’t mind this reflection. I went to the gym and took Erin with me and she asked me if I missed having a six pack. I said no, because the truth of it is, as much as I really like muscle and would adore to be super lean again, I can only associate it with being miserable. A few months ago I went a bit mental with the old food thing (again) and I battled momentarily with how to find a balance. But actually, I think I’m there (🤫). I’ve lost 22lbs since Feb without really trying, I’m running 20 mile weeks and today I lifted weight (because lifting makes you stronger and faster and leaner and I need to keep remembering that cardio actually doesn’t). I had birthday cake for breakfast with my Mum and Dad, I exercised for an hour, have had a baked potato for lunch and I don’t feel an ounce of guilt or worry or stress because I’ve not counted my calories or because I’ve eaten sugar. I would like to lose more weight, but I don’t care if it doesn’t happen in the next month, because by waking up every day making healthy choices, the weight comes off anyway. Plus I’m about to start training for a marathon so that might help. And who knows, maybe there’s a six pack still hiding under there. But if there’s not? Didn’t like that much 🥵 had some time after work so took my legs down into Longniddry, past the big houses and ran along the beach into Port Seton back towards Prestonpans. My legs literally stopped working after mile 3 but it was so nice to run somewhere different. Just glad I didn’t pass any students because I was not looking my best by the end 🤣🙋🏼‍♀️nice wee 10km PB though and more miles in this weeks bank. Nice to get fresh blood into the legs after Saturday. Have had a bit of a sore throat and head the last few days and that was definitely reflected in my heart rate today but my legs felt really fresh and I recovered well which is definitely a positive. Spending five hours on your feet moving takes a lot out of you so it was a bonus to feel so good today especially in that heat 🥵 endurance building for the marathon has started 🤗 . . #running #training #intervals #sunnyruns #freshlegs #marathontraining #runningbackfrominjury #progress
