There’s a couple of days a month where I wake up and feel really comfy in my own skin. This has been the same no matter what I weigh (it’s all hormonal tbh) Today is one of them. Woke up and was like - yeah I don’t mind this reflection. I went to the gym and took Erin with me and she asked me if I missed having a six pack. I said no, because the truth of it is, as much as I really like muscle and would adore to be super lean again, I can only associate it with being miserable. A few months ago I went a bit mental with the old food thing (again) and I battled momentarily with how to find a balance. But actually, I think I’m there (🤫). I’ve lost 22lbs since Feb without really trying, I’m running 20 mile weeks and today I lifted weight (because lifting makes you stronger and faster and leaner and I need to keep remembering that cardio actually doesn’t). I had birthday cake for breakfast with my Mum and Dad, I exercised for an hour, have had a baked potato for lunch and I don’t feel an ounce of guilt or worry or stress because I’ve not counted my calories or because I’ve eaten sugar. I would like to lose more weight, but I don’t care if it doesn’t happen in the next month, because by waking up every day making healthy choices, the weight comes off anyway. Plus I’m about to start training for a marathon so that might help. And who knows, maybe there’s a six pack still hiding under there. But if there’s not?
